Old BAMPFA brings back to life the previous home of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA), the Woo Hon Fai Hall, a city landmark of brutalist architecture that is about to become the new UC Berkeley BioEnginuity Hub. The museum is forbidded to enter currently, but in a powerful VR immersive environment, visitors can explore the dramatic architecture interiors designed by Mario Ciampi, its art galleries spiraling around a towering central void. The VR experience revisits some of the most iconic art exhibitions the museum hosted throughout decades, since its inauguration in 1963. Additional features allow visitors to fly over the iconic architectural piece to better grasp its complex, fan-shaped geometry, and then fly through the skylights and land on the museum interior. Once inside, users can engage on art-themed experiences that include curating their own exhibition from a list of available paintings. Finally, in a visually and spatially stunning experience, users can paint the entire building surfaces according to the colors and style of their selected paintings, becoming virtually enveloped in an artwork cocoon.

The game starts with the player flying in the sky and looking at the Old Bampfa Art Museum. There is a menu with 9 different artworks on the left hand. When pressing PrimaryHandTrigger on the left controller, the menu shows up. And there is a small ball on the right hand. When the ball touches the artwork on the menu, and the playing presses the PrimaryIndexTrigger on the right controller, Old Bampfa Art Museum will change the texture to the artwork just selected. The texture will be changed back when pressing the PrimaryIndexTrigger again. The player can play with the artworks and decorate the façade of the museum.
When pressing the PrimaryIndexTrigger on the left controller and lowering the controller, the player can fly down to the ground. He can walk through a tunnel with old photos of the museum and enter the building on the second floor.
Texture can also be changed in the interior of the museum. The player can decorate the interior while playing to different levels of the building.
After touching the artwork on the menu and selecting a piece of artwork, the player can press and hold the PrimaryHandTrigger on the right controller, an artwork board shows up and player can exhibit anywhere he wants in the museum. Play can exhibit the museum in the way he likes. Although the museum can't be enter, but players still can visit in the VR world.
